Celebrating In The Best Kind Of Way – An Anniversary Photo Session

Siobhan & Rob got married at Treseren, Cornwall in September 2023! When Siobhan messaged me in February 2024 with an amazing idea to surprise Rob with a trip back down to Treseren for their anniversary and an anniversary photo session, I couldn’t say no!

The Wedding Day

Treseren was Siobhan & Robs venue of choice, and how could it not be, the perfect backdrop for the intimate elopement style wedding day that they were after!

The weather gods had been listening, because their day was blessed with a gorgeous blue sky, creating the perfect setting for their ceremony on the front lawn. Surrounded by home grown flowers, they spent their day sipping cocktails, enjoying afternoon tea and playing table tennis.

The afternoon brought with it a trip to Holywell Bay Beach in a vintage campervan and a wedding breakfast as the sun was setting. Before they danced the night away.

The Anniversary Photo Session

Siobhan decided that for their anniversary she wanted to go back to the place they said ‘I Do’, to the place they tiptoed through the sand on their special day and relive those moments one year later.

Treseren welcomed them back with open arms and a couple of homemade cocktails to enjoy on the grounds!

Siobhan & Rob wanted to start a tradition. Every year, on or near their anniversary, they will have a photo taken of them holding the previous years photograph framed. With the idea that year on year the framed photo will go back in time!

We spent the afternoon reminiscing on the gorgeous day they had, everything that had happened in the year since and all of the things in-between. We had already built such a strong connection and relationship through the build up to their wedding day that it truly felt like catching up with my friends! This was by far the absolute perk of them booking in with me after photographing their wedding.

Holywell Bay

After they had sipped their cocktails and said goodbye to Treseren, we headed down to Holywell Bay – the exact beach they had walked on in their wedding outfits, almost exactly one year on! Siobhan & Rob spent the rest of their anniversary photo session running through the sand. Truly being with one another whilst reflecting on their love and how far they had come!

Why Should I Book An Anniversary Photo Session?

Other than the fact that I think everyday is an excuse to have gorgeous photos taken, I believe if someone is telling you about something and they also do or use the thing, it must be good!

What I mean by that is, every year since my wife and I got married in 2022, we have booked our wedding photographer for an anniversary photo session. Each year we have it in a different location and every single time we walk away with amazing memories, smiles on our faces and hearts full of love!

It is so easy to settle for iPhone selfies or pics a stranger has taken on the way to a night out. But real photographs of the two of you in love, laughing, holding each other – man you can’t beat that!

Make it a part of your routine, something to look forward to every year! It is worth it’s weight in gold – I promise!
