Ellie and Luke chose the beautiful Nantwen in Pembrokeshire for their countryside elopement, turning their wedding day into a heartfelt, intimate celebration with just the two of them and their two young boys. This was a true runaway wedding—kept secret from their family, and even from their children, until they were already on their way to the venue. The surprise made the day feel even more magical and personal!
A Family Morning at Nantwen
The day began in the cosy countryside retreat of Nantwen, where the family all got ready together. The dining table was covered in an array of sweet & savoury grazing board style snacks, which kept the boys happy and fuelled for the day ahead. Luke helped the boys into their outfits while Ellie looked on, the soundtrack of Slipping Through My Fingers playing softly in the background and setting an emotional tone.
The children were given personalised gift boxes filled with goodies, making them feel just as special as their parents. When Ellie finally came downstairs in her wedding dress, their reactions were priceless—full of joy, pride, and excitement.

A Ceremony Full of Personality – Countryside Elopement
The ceremony took place in front of the flower beds at Nantwen, blending romance with the laid-back feel of the day. Their eldest son, shyly watched from inside while the youngest stood outside, joyfully firing bubbles into the air with his bubble gun. After saying their vows and signing the register, the whole family spilled out into a bubble-filled celebration. Laughter echoing through the garden.

Newport Sands Adventure
After cutting the cake, the family set off for Newport Sands Beach. What unfolded was pure joy. The boys ran straight into the sea, splashing through waves without a care for how wet or sandy they became. Ellie swapped her wedding shoes for trainers, and together the four of them played, laughed, and made memories on the shoreline.
This part of the Countryside elopement captured the essence of what the day was all about: freedom, family, and authenticity.

Making the Day Their Own
The evening ended perfectly back at Nantwen. Cake, pyjamas, and cuddles while watching TV. No traditions, no pressure, just a wedding day that was truly theirs. Ellie and Luke’s countryside elopement in Pembrokeshire was a powerful reminder that weddings don’t have to follow a set script. With love, laughter, and a sense of adventure, they created a day their family will never forget.
