A Magical Day in the Trees: Sarah & Liam’s Chycara Wedding, Cornwall

On 10th May 2025, Sarah and Liam tied the knot at their stunning Chycara wedding in the Bissoe valley – the heart of Cornwall—and what a day it was. With the sun shining high in a clear blue sky and light filtering dreamily through the trees, their woodland wedding felt like something out of a storybook.

Getting ready

From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was full of joy. Sarah was getting ready with her bridesmaids—hair and makeup in full swing, laughter in the air, and stories flying about the late-night prep party they’d had the night before. Despite waking up at 4:30am (wedding excitement is real!), Sarah was in high spirits, buzzing with anticipation.

Their setup was a beautiful blend of boho elegance—pampas grass arrangements, neutral tones, and warm textures created a relaxed yet stylish backdrop for the day. The tables were perfectly laid out, and the cake stood proudly, waiting for its moment.

Meanwhile, Liam and the groomsmen were suited up and in great form. After a few beers and final touches—including some last-minute tie and pocket square adjustments—they were ready and waiting.

Wedding Pavillion Ceremony at Chycara Wedding

One of the most unique parts of a Chycara wedding is the ceremony location! A little wedding pavillion set on an island in the middle of a lake. Guests are seated on the surrounding edges, watching the couple exchange vows in this picture-perfect setting. Reached only by a little wooden bridge. Liam looked both nervous and excited as the music started and the bridesmaids began their walk around the lake. Then came Sarah, radiant in her dress, and the look on Liam’s face said it all.

Their ceremony was beautiful, emotional, and full of smiles. As they walked out through a flurry of white paper confetti, it felt like something straight from a dream. The couple mingled with guests over canapés and drinks on the lawn, and then we snuck away for some couple portraits!

Champagne Filled Reception

Back at the venue, it was time for their grand entrance into the wedding breakfast, followed by heartfelt speeches, a champagne tower pour, and a beautifully styled cake cut. But the surprises weren’t over yet!

Guests were treated to a surprise saxophonist, who brought the energy up as everyone danced outdoors in the warm, overcast evening light. With a photobooth, sweets, and plenty of laughter, the party was in full swing by the time their first dance rolled around!

As the night came to a close, we headed outside for a sparkler exit—always a favourite! And one final, unforgettable moment: a champagne spray with two bottles, lit perfectly with flash to catch every joyful drop. It was the perfect way to round off an unforgettable celebration.

Sarah and Liam’s Chycara wedding was a joyful, relaxed, and deeply personal day, set in one of Cornwall’s most enchanting venues. From the pavillion ceremony on the lake to the wild dancing and emotional toasts. It was the kind of day that reminds you why weddings are so special! An entire love story told in a single, perfect day!
