In December, I had the pleasure to photograph, not one, not two but three gorgeous couples in the amazing setting of Blackwater Arboretum! I was also fortunate enough to have all of these couples booked in for their weddings – so it made these photoshoots extra special!

Meet the Couples: Love Stories Unfold

1. Erica & Jack: A Timeless Romance in Hampshire’s New Forest
   After being together since 2015, following Jack’s journey through joining the Navy and spending lots of time away, it was only right that he proposed after an 8 month deployment – finally popping the question after 6 years!

2. Isabel & Curtis: Love’s Bloom Amidst Nature’s Canvas
   “We met when we were 17 and 19, both still at college. We’d been friends on Facebook for years as we had mutual friends and had seen each other in passing many times but had never spoken to each other. One day in the autumn we started chatting and meeting up just as friends, both not looking for a relationship. That didn’t last long as we soon became inseparable and fell head over heels for one and other. It was just a few days before Christmas when we were ice skating that Curtis plucked up the courage to ask me to be his girlfriend. And the rest is history! 8 1/2 years later I can’t believe I’m about to marry my best friend, we’ve grown so much together since we first met and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.”

3. Katie & Charles: Serenity Found in Hampshire’s New Forest
   “I did kickboxing when I was younger, and one day Katie rocked up for a trial class. I initially assumed she was lost, but she wanted to learn, and we partnered up. She then proceeded to kick me straight in the face! The rest, as they say, is history and ten years later, we’re getting married!”

As a Hampshire couple photographer, I have the absolute pleasure of capturing so much love and memories with so many amazing people! Bringing out the happiness a couple share is so so special. It allows me to capture and immortalise these beautiful moments in time!

Blackwater Arboretum: Nature’s Perfect Setting for Photoshoots

When I first chose Blackwater Arboretum for these gorgeous couple photoshoots, I picked it based purely on some Instagram tags I had seen that looked stunning! What I didn’t know was actually any information about this special place in the New Forest!

Arboretum means ‘a botanical garden devoted to trees’, and this makes total sense when you visit Blackwater Arboretum. It is actually the place of some exotic trees that were planted back in the 1850’s! It’s also home to the tallest trees in the New Forest including giant Sequoia trees, one of which is 51m tall! (Bit of tree knowledge for you there!)

In Conclusion: A Day to Remember in Hampshire’s New Forest

As the sun dipped low over the day at Blackwater Arboretum, I couldn’t help but feel the magic of Hampshire’s New Forest and how love and nature blend seamlessly there. Blackwater Arboretum isn’t just about pretty pictures; it’s where three couples found something deeper—a place where moments were made in the midst of nature’s beauty. It was all captured, keeping those memories alive forever!
