LGBTQ+ Scotland Wedding – Jo and Jill

two brides kissing at lgbtq+ scotland wedding

Jo and Jills LGBTQ+ Scotland wedding was absolutely amazing!!

I had the pleasure of travelling from Cornwall all the way to a little town in Scotland called Dunoon for Jo and Jills DIY wedding.

The girls first found me on Instagram and they messaged me to say that if I was closer they would definitely book me. After moving a few things around and making sure I had plenty of time, I messaged them back to say I would LOVE to photograph their wedding.

Fast forward 6 months and their special day was only a few weeks away!

After building a very close friendship before their big day I couldn’t wait to meet them on the morning of!

The Scotland Wedding

When I arrived in Dunoon, the morning of, it was a super windy day and both brides were out organising the garden area of their beach side wedding. With only about an hour and a half until they said I do, they both headed upstairs to have their hair and make up done by the amazing Ana-Inga.

Jo and Jill said I do overlooking West Bay on the Firth of Clyde with their loved ones and ringbearer Atlas – the Frenchie.

After confetti, shots and a whole load of hugs, Jo, Jill and myself took a road trip to Pucks Glen. The perfect time for them both to reflect on their amazing day so far and how much fun they’d had.

Toninos pizza served up an absolute treat for all of the guests! Bringing Scotland’s best pizza to these two brides!!

The speeches were heartfelt and tearful whilst everyone sat on their home brought chairs and basked in the Scottish sun.

The Laurettes filled the decked dancefloor for hours! Through rain and shine they left massive smiles on every single guests face.

As the sun was setting, we popped down to the beach for some photos and sandy toes! The day turned into night and the dancefloor opened up. Jo and Jill had their first dance before welcoming their loved ones to join them and dance the night away.

The day was filled with laughter and rainbows and is a day I definitely won’t forget. Thank you so much to these girls for picking me to be their LGBTQ+ Scotland Wedding Photographer.

A little something…

To end this post I just wanted to leave you with something they wrote about what marriage means to them:

It is travelling together and being lucky enough to experience things that some people only
dream of. It is having a lifetime of memories that, when the time comes, we can laugh about
in our nursing home. It is sharing things to add to our never-ending list of things we want to
do. It is agreeing to do crazy things together (even if we are terrified) and it is living for the
moment, being spontaneous, being happier than we could ever imagine.
